EPISODE 6: FAITH SPEAKS [FAITH & CONFESSION]

TEXT: 2 Corinthians. 4:13; Proverbs 6:2

  1. Faith must be confessed
There is Power in What You Say! (Prov. 6:2). Some examples of “Speaking Faith”: God (Gen 1:2a), Jesus (Mark 11:22-23), Abraham (Rom. 4:17-22).
  1. Speaking brings Salvation
God is just waiting for you to begin to speak in faith so you can have what you say! (Rom 10:8-9), this agrees with Mark 11:23
  1. Speaking faith =higher faith
In Mark 11:22 and 23, Jesus, teaching His disciples, says: “…have faith in God.” The literal translation is: “Have the faith of God… For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain….” The implication here is that the faith of God is a faith that speaks. Saying faith is a higher faith than asking for faith. It takes faith to ask, but there is a faith that goes beyond asking to a faith that speaks.
  1. Speaking expresses/releases faith.
Speaking is the natural way for faith to express itself. Faith that does not speak is stillborn. Once faith is established in our hearts, no conscious effort is needed any longer to make the right confession. Faith naturally flows out in what we say with our mouths. Thereafter, as we continue to express our faith with our mouths, we confess our way progressively into the full benefits of salvation.
  1. Speak what God says
We are not allowed to confess just anything but God’s word. God’s word in your mouth is as powerful as God’s word in God’s Mouth (Rev. 12:11).
  1. Agree with God
Agree with Gods word. In Psalm 116:10 (KJV) the psalmist said, “I believed, therefore have I spoken”.
  1. Believe what you speak
The Power of confession is in us believing (Mark 11:23)

Conclusion

  1. Victory is in your mouth! As you repeat God’s word and learn to walk by faith, not by sight, your faith increases.
  2. Faith comes by hearing God’s word, obeying what you have heard out of a heart of
love for God and confessing in the face of adversity exactly what His word says.
