Introduction/recap sharing your personal testimony
Key Scripture: Acts 8v4-13, 26-40
Summary: Dispersion, Samaria revival, Simon, reinforcement, Chariot
Key Principles
- simply not content to serve tables as excuse on witnessing Introduced as a deacon (diakonos, helper, minister to physical needs: care dept, welfare etc in Acts 6-)
- The value of oneSoul Acts 8 v26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” He was having success and God led him to one soul-Africa eg Billy Graham, Reinhard Bonkee
- Simon vs Ethiopian eunuch
- A willingness to teach one as well as many
- Right attitude-Obedience without questions-Saul No Lord
- Unprejudiced–Color blind. The Ethiopian though a proselyte was still considered an outcast Deut 15. He was not entirely jewish, so essentially a gentile
- Unlike Peter of Acts 10 Phillip did not hesitate We must be like Phillip, color blind look to the condition of the soul, and not skin or pocket
- Acts 10v34, since neither Christ nor God are respecter of persons we shdnt
- Sense of urgency Acts 8v30 He ran. The early church was zealous about soul winning we need to restore that today
- Meet People where they are Proselyte(convert to Judaism but not born again)
- You can join people on their spiritual journeys by being an Explorer(discovering where they are spiritually),
- a Guide(showing the way to Jesus),
- a Builder(helping people get past obstacles)
- or a Mentor(walking with them as they grow in their faith).
