Hi There! A big thanks to you for making it a date on this program.Recap importance of sharing, Hindrances; zero in on one-what do I say? What Exactly is the Gospel, Essentials of Presenting the Gospel
Isa 40v6 The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “
There’s no way to share the gospel if you aren’t prepared to share the gospel.1Pet 3v15
You don‟t have to know the whole bible but a basic understanding and the ability to locate the scriptures is necessary.
Option1
In presenting the Gospel, there’s no hard and fast rule but certain key elements must be present in the message for it to be complete. 1COR 15V1-8, Lk 24 v45-49
1Co 15v1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1Co 15:5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
1Co 15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
1Co 15:7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
1Co 15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
There you have it. Comparing these two passages, we can now summarize the essence of the gospel as announcing:
- Who is Jesus:He is the Christ (Gr Christos, anointed one Hb Messiah Saviour) . That is His title as our Savior, Lord and King.
- What has Jesus done:He died on the cross and rose from the dead. This is the work of salvation — what Christ did to save us.
- Why has Jesus done this:Rom 3v23 all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. God demand that Sin must be punished Rom 6v23 The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. He has done this to forgive your sins and bestow on you the benefits that come with salvation.
- How can we know that it is true:Because it fulfills the Old Testament Scriptures, and many NT eyewitnesses have testified to His resurrection.
- How should we respond:With repentance (that is, by turning to God, away from our SIN) and faith.
- Call to action Do you want to receive Jesus?Confess Jesus as Lord Rom 10v10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Option2
No. 1: God’s love
The gospel reveals God’s great love for us: “In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him” (1 John 4:9, ESV).Jn 3v16
No. 2: Man’s problem
Through the gospel, we also grow in the awareness of our own failure and need. Each of us has turned from God and gone astray at many times and in many ways. This is what the Bible calls sin. The result is that we are spiritually dead or separated from God and the life He gives. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23, ESV).
No. 3: Christ’s solution
This is the heart of the gospel, its essence, which meets our need. As the Savior and Lord, Jesus died in our place, paying the penalty for our sins. But He did not just die. He rose from the dead and is alive today, reigning as the Lord of all. “God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8, ESV).
No. 4: Our response
As we understand who Jesus is and what He has done for us, we realize there is nothing we could do on our own to earn or merit salvation from our sin and its consequences. Jesus Christ has done it all. So now we can receive Him into our lives through faith (John 1:12). Paul describes this as the gift of God’s grace: “By grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9, ESV).

- Biblical evangelism – The good news and the bad news
The word “gospel” means “good news.” While many well-meaning Christians begin their evangelistic efforts with the good news of God’s love for mankind, that message is lost on unbelievers who must first come to grips with the extent of the bad news. First, man is separated from a holy, righteous God by sin. Second, God hates sin and is “angry with the wicked every day” (Psalm 7:11). Third, death and judgment are inevitable (Hebrews 9:27). Fourth, man is wholly incapable of doing anything about the situation. Until the full extent of this bad news is presented, the good news cannot be effectively communicated. - Biblical evangelism – Salvation through Jesus Christ
But now comes the good news. What man could not do to save himself, God accomplished on the cross. Jesus exchanged His righteous, holy nature for our sinful nature so that we can stand before God completely clean and pure, new creations with the old sin nature gone forever (2 Corinthians 5:17-21). God provided the perfect sacrifice for our sin, not because we deserved it or earned it, but because of His love and grace and mercy (Ephesians 2:8-9). Only those whose natures have been changed can escape the wrath of God and live in the light of His love and mercy. If we believe these things and commit our lives to following Christ by faith, we will live eternally with Him in the bliss and glory of heaven. This is good news indeed.
- Repent
- When trying to decide how to share Christ with someone, the starting point should be the same as that of John the Baptist and Jesus Himself. Matthew 3:2tells us that John began his ministry with the words “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” Repentance refers to a “change of mind,” which implies sorrow for past offences (2 Corinthians 7:10), a deep sense of the evil of sin as committed against God (Psalm 51:4), and a conscious decision to turn from sin to God. The first words Jesus spoke when He began His public ministry were identical to John’s (Matthew 4:17).
